Anna Paquin goes avant garde with McQueen at the Emmys
Like January Jones’s Versace, Anna Paquin’s dress for the 2010 Emmy Awards has been a bit controversial. And when I say “controversial,” I mean that people tended to not like it. I’m going to be slightly more diplomatic: I love the Alexander McQueen dress, and I love Anna Paquin. I’m just not sure if the two make a great pair.
I totally respect her choice to wear it, because she seems like a tried and true McQueen fan (check out the Alexander McQueen Skull Clutch in her hand, for example) and his dresses are sometimes a tough sell for a glammed-up red carpet where the sartorial choices most people make are boring. Paquin is very petite, however, and the dress would have probably looked more appropriate on someone statuesque. I can’t blame her for rocking it anyway, though
